As the war of Panem escalates to the destruction of other districts, Katniss Everdeen, the reluctant leader of the rebellion, must bring together an army against President Snow, while all she holds dear hangs in the balance.
After Katniss Everdeen, the girl on fire, accepted the role of the Mockingjay, the symbol of rebellion against the autocratic Capitol, she and the rebels of District 13 poise an all-out war against them; however, this time Katniss has a personal agenda: assassinating President Snow herself to gain revenge not only for Panem's sake but for her own as well.
Hunger games mockingjay part 2 looked promising. After the very disappointing Mockingjay part 1 in which nothing of big interest happened the conclusion could only be better and more satisfying. Hopefully it is but not as much as I would of wanted it to.

I thought this movie was going to have a lot more action than it did. I thought this movie was going to be the big conclusion to the saga and the clash between the rebels and the capitol. And it sorta was..but there is still a lot of things in this movie that are boring. The majority of this films feels like a dramatic talking film and not this big fun blockbuster that it was supposed to be. The pacing in this movie is so slow and at times in this film it just felt like they where dragging this story that should of never been split in two films in the first place! There is simply not enough substance for two movies. When stuff happens though it is a lot of fun and Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss is once again excellent! She's definitely the highlight of the whole movie.

Overral mockinjay part 2 is slightly better than part 1 but still not a good conclusion to this saga. The two first HG movies are still the best and this one is just slightly above average. You may enjoy it more than I did if your'e a hardcore fan of Hunger Games but still this was a disappointment. When The Hunger Games was first released almost four years ago, I had no idea it was going to be the successful franchise it is now. I was fourteen when I watched the first film and began reading the books and each film just got better and better. This is definitely the case with Mockingjay Part 2, the thrilling and emotional conclusion of the franchise. I would also say that this is the film that, I think, is the most faithful to the original book of the same name. There were so many parts in the film that I remembered reading about when I first read the book three years ago. Whilst I was reading the books, I didn't know how the cast and crew were going to make a film adaptation in a creative and successful way. Nevertheless, they managed to do it. Jennifer Lawrence returns, for one last time, as Katniss Everdeen, the main protagonist. In Mockingjay Part 1, Katniss is suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and is finding it difficult to cope without Peeta Mellark, her former tribute and love interest from District 12, as she doesn't know if he's dead or alive. She meets the President of District 13, Alma Coin, who is unsure that she is the right person to be the face of the revolution due to her struggles. However, Katniss proves her wrong and films short films, known as 'propagandas', to distract the Capitol and to persuade the people of Panem to join her fight against President Snow. However, things don't all go to plan because, when Peeta is rescued, he has been hijacked and tries to kill Katniss. This is because he's been hijacked which means that the Capitol has corrupted his memories of her to make her appear violent or a threat to him. Now, Mockingjay: Part 2 picks straight up where Mockingjay: Part 1 left, with Katniss recovering from her injury. Despite her struggles, she is still willing to be part of the fight against the Capitol but President Coin refuses and sends her to District 2 to film a propaganda, much to her annoyance. She is desperate to kill President Snow for everything he has done and goes on a rogue mission to join her fellow soldiers to take over the Capitol. President Coin is not happy with this and sends Peeta, who still has negative views on Katniss and continues to have violent acts of rage towards her. However, he is slowly recovering from his disordered views of Katniss and he begins a game called 'Real Or Not Real' to help him know the truth. This was one of my favourite parts in the book as I thought it was a clever way to help Peeta understand his disordered image. Director Francis Lawrence has stated that this is the most violent out of all The Hunger Games and he's not wrong. When, fellow tribute, Finnick mockingly states, 'Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the 76th Hunger Games', it truly is like that. The Capitol itself is like an arena with thousands of deadly traps and bombs, known as Pods, lying on every corner. Katniss and her team of soldiers, one of which includes friend Gale Hawthorne, must avoid all of these traps in order to make it to the President's mansion. I had read the books so I knew what was going to happen but I was still shocked at how brutal certain people's deaths were. One specific death scene had me in tears when I first watched it as the character was one of the most likable in the series and the character died in such a violent way. There was also another death scene which had me in tears but wasn't as violent as it was so sudden. These deaths may come as a shock to people who haven't read the books. There are several new characters played by some of the best actors. Despite being only on screen for a short time, they still manage to pull it off. In fact, every actor in this film was amazing, especially Jennifer Lawrence. She is perfect as Katniss and really understands her character well. Throughout the films, I think she's definitely matured and grown into the role. I've also got to mention Josh Hutcherson as Peeta. In The Hunger Games and Catching Fire, Peeta had a charming and sweet personality but in this film, he's lost that charm due to the Capitol torturing him. He goes from being violent one minute to being really emotional. Josh really managed to make me feel sympathy for Peeta. I think this is a great conclusion to one of the biggest film franchises and I would definitely say that it's the best of the four films as there's plenty of violence, suspense and emotional moments. With brilliant acting, intense scenes, amazing special effects and great directing, this is one of the best book- to-film adaptations I've ever watched.
One could argue that “Mockingjay” didn’t really merit being split in two (and surely a single three-hour movie could be made of it), but we benefit from the fact that the film has been given room to breathe, which allows for subtle character moments...and the gradual building of suspense during the actual siege in the Capitol.
Witnessing what tyrannical Capitol President Snow (Donald Sutherland) has done to her partner Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson), two-time Hunger Games champion Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) agrees to serve as the Mockingjay, the symbol of the Panem districts' rebellion against the Capitol. As District 13 President Alma Coin (Julianne Moore) makes plans for uniting the districts in the upcoming war, Katniss acts on her own personal agenda—that of assassinating President Snow (Donald Sutherland). The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 is based on the second half of Mockingjay, a 2010 novel by American writer Suzanne Collins. It is the fourth and last movie in The Hunger Games series, preceded by The Hunger Games (2012) (2012),(2013), and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 (2014) (2014). The novel was adapted for the film by American screenwriters Peter Craig and Danny Strong. Katniss is reunited with Peeta but, when she tries to hug him, he suddenly attacks and tries to strangle her,. Katniss is saved only by Boggs' (Mahershala Ali) intervention. Later, it's explained to her that Peeta was "hijacked"—a form of fear conditioning enhanced with "Tracker Jacker venom". Meanwhile, Alma Coin announces that her covert operation into the Capitol has resulted in the victors being liberated and requests that all the districts of Panem unite against their mutual oppressor. In the final scene, Katniss looks into the medical chamber where a manically-distressed Peeta is being held in restraints. Realizing that it was Coin who ordered the bombing that caused her sister Prim's (Willow Shields) death, Katniss redirects the aim of her arrow from Snow to Coin, hitting her squarely in the heart. Snow roars in laughter. Katniss attempts to commit suicide but, as she reaches into her pocket for the Nightlock pill, Peeta knocks it out of her hand. As Katniss is taken into custody and dragged away, the angry crowd surges forward and continues Snow's execution for her. Standing on the sidelines, Plutarch (Philip Seymour Hoffman) watches and smiles. While Katniss sits alone in a room guarded by two guards, Haymitch (Woody Harrelson) enters and reads to her a letter from Plutarch to, expressing his approval of all she did and assuring her that the leaders of the Districts are already planning to vote in a new President, who will most probably be Commander Paylor (Patina Miller), who will eventually pardon her. Katniss takes the train back to her home in District 12's Victors Village to lay low until the dissension quiets. The winter passes slowly as Katniss mourns the loss of Prim. One day in the spring, she returns from hunting to find Peeta planting primroses in her garden. When the summer rains come, Peeta is still there. One night, as they lay in bed cuddling, Peeta asks, You love me. Real or not real? Katniss replies, "Real." In the final scenes, several years later, Katniss and Peeta are still together, Peeta playing with their son while Katniss holds her newborn, who awakens and begins to fuss. Katniss tells the baby that she has nightmares, too, but that she deals with them by playing a game in which she remembers all the good things that people did. It gets tedious, she admits, "but there are worse games to play."
